MultiChoice has expanded its Video on Demand (VOD) offering by introducing the service online.DStv ON DEMAND is a service in which selected DStv programming is stored on a server or decoder hard drive, allowing subscribers access to these programmes at a time that is convenient to them. DStv Premium subscribers will now be able to catch up on their favourite TV series, and sports online and through their PVR decoders.

These services are being offered free of charge to DStv Premium subscribers. At a later stage, we may expand the offering and introduce options where you can pay for selected content.

The DStv ON DEMAND online offering provides 80 hours per week of premium content including blockbuster movies, award-winning series, the best sporting action, kids’ shows and documentaries.
At launch, the online service (available at www.dstv.com) will only be available to MWEB ADSL subscribers, however we are engaging with all the other ISP’s to offer it to their customers in time. Due to the large size of these files, subscribers should keep in mind that downloading content will use up a significant amount of bandwidth, and therefore we do recommend an uncapped product for the best viewing experience.  .

DStv ON DEMAND is now also available on PVR decoders that are HD capable, offering 20 hours of the most popular TV series and sports magazines shows for up to 7 days after broadcast on DStv Channels. 

The DStv ON DEMAND service was previously only available through standard definition PVR decoders. The service on the standard definition decoder provides 20 hours of the most popular TV series and sports magazines shows for up to 7 days after broadcast on DStv Channels.
